Buckle Up!

Seat belts save lives. When dad gets in the car, he buckles his seat belt. When mom gets in the car, she buckles her seat belt. When their six-year-old gets in the car, she buckles her seat belt. When their ten-year-old gets in the car, she buckles her seat belt.

This family never used to use seat belts. In fact, their eight-year-old son died because he was not wearing one. It happened just five months ago. They were only six miles from home. An oncoming car crossed the center line and hit them head-on. The driver had fallen asleep.

The eight-year-old was sitting in the middle of the back seat. He was not wearing a seat belt. He was thrown through the windshield and was found a great distance from the car. He was dead at the scene. Seat belts save lives.
