Laundry Day

Monday is laundry day. Sol gathers her purse, soap, and clothes basket. She sorts the clothes by color. One load is light colors. The other load is dark colors.

Sol likes the Rinse and Shine Laundry best. It is clean and the washing machines work very well. Plus, there is a coffee shop in the same building. It has baked goods and hot and cold drinks.

Sol goes to the Rinse and Shine Laundry. She loads two washers. Then she goes to the coffee shop. The clerk asks, “Would you like chai today, Sol?”

“Yes,” says Sol, “I like that drink. I would like a muffin too.”

She sips the chai and reads the newspaper while her clothes are washing. Then she dries and folds her clothes. Laundry day is finished.
